I heard former Army Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan (OIF Veteran) speak at an El Paso Golden Retriever Rescue Gala Dinner in February 2016. He was amazing to listen to and his service dog Tuesday actually signed the book too!
His two books are a must read ... "Until Tuesday" and for children is "Tuesday Tucks Me In" (this book teaches children about PTSD and what service dogs do).
My 7 year old son now understands what service dogs do for Veterans.

CSM (Join to see), We took quite a few dogs and handlers to the field in Nam. Sometimes when we went back to pick them up, one or the other would be KIA or WIA. It was very sad. Here's a pic I took on a load up for an air assault.

I did not see what was supposed to seen, however, I think about LOYALTY in regards to the service dogs, and we have left some behind.
