Cpl Mark A. Morris I read your post with particular interest. The first thing that struck me is a phrasing you used. "...low information voters". WOW! Talk about being judgmental and condencending. I have a question. Cpl. Mark A. Morris, are you suggesting that individuals who disagree with your political ideology are low information voters? I read the same page as MSG Stan Hutchison I too found little that was objectionable to me as an American Citizen. I am a Constitutionalist. I believe in the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and ALL 27 Amendments, not just the 1st and 2nd.
I too worked my rear end off. I was blessed to have a successful career that allowed me to provide a "comfortable" living for my family. No, I am not rich, but I can still get cheese on my cheeseburgers.
It is my opinion that we differ on what racism is and how it affects people. You used the phrase that "the man is holding me down". I can tell you from personal and professional experience that "institutional racism" is extremely real. When you compare the statistics of Minorities incarcerated vs Non-minorities, and compare that to the population in whole. Stevie Wonder could see the disparity. What happens when disproportionate Minorities are incarcerated, they lose their right to vote. This becomes a crucial issue when you look at the possibility of leveling the playing field to reduce injustices. You also speak about welfare, the best welfare a person can have is a job that pays a person adequately so they can support their family. I am totally against unbridled wealth. I believe in a more equitable distribution of wealth. The "Trickle Down Theory" does not work. Especially when the people at the top build a dam. This economy as a nation thrives when the masses have resources to be able to contribute to the economy. You cannot depend on just the very rich to "create jobs". It takes all of us to get the job done. A vast majority of Minorities do not feel the world owes them anything. Just get out of our way and allow us to get it ourselves.
I dare say that when you get pulled over by the police, you may very well perceive it as a minor inconvenience. When "I" get pulled over, I pray to God that the Law Enforcement Officer isn't so focused on getting home to his family, that he doesn't allow me to get home to my family.
You may say, well I don't understand how LEO's works. Well I'm the son of a Police Officer. I use to pray that my dad would come home everyday. Now, I pray that my three grandson's don't run across a Police Officer. Especially one like Amber Guyger!
Regarding immigrants coming to this country. We are a country of immigrants. Besides, all of the immigrants were invited. OH!, you say!. The Stature of Liberty says "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Now, some people would say that "well they are breaking our laws, by coming here illegally". Let's understand the immigration laws are not altruistic, they are intact very biased in there interpretations and applications. I mean, after all, it use to be against the law to teach me to read and write, does that sound "Altruistic"?
America is a beautiful and wonderful country, but we must find ways to stop the hatred and lack of compromise. We must find a way to understand and be understood. Only Love Can Conquer Hate!

No. I am not writing, or meaning those that see politics differently than I are wrong. Low information voter, to me, means someone who has not read much about a subject. They have just been told about a subject. The phrase, "the man is holding me down". may have been true in the past. But, if it was true now, how did General Powell become a 4 Star General? How about Justice Thomas?
Racism? Yes there is racism all over the world and here in the US. That is not what my post is about.
The Constitution is a document to limit government. Those who state they support it, then call for large Central government are not very bright. IMO.
If we are going to bring up the past Sir, the Romans owe me money. How far back in the past do you want to go? I did not live when someone/s made sure individuals could not read and write.
I noticed you quoted the info from the Statue of Liberty. That does not mean give me your undocumented with illnesses and we will put you on welfare and give you free health care. It means, we will take those who are poor with documentation and expect you to work.
That group I posted about may are free to voice their code words and push their agenda. But, I am free to write about them and how I see them.
Have a good evening.

"The group's stated goal is to "envision and win an innovative pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda."
What part of that are you opposed to?

Good afternoon MSG,
For the group listed above, immigrant includes illegal alien immigration. Also, known as open borders.
I'm opposed to unchecked immigration. How many unknown dieases come through that way? Acute and chronic. Why does the American tax payer have to pay for that as well as anchor baby well fare?
White privilege is also found in the article. I worked for everything I have and General Powell has out performed me. Nor was I alive in the 19th century. So, I don't owe anyone a hand out. But, I am not an extremist as you appear to be.
Over the course of this past year, you consistently show your hostility to me and my posts. What causes that? We both know I have not written anything a MSG isn't already aware of. So, it must be something else. My appearance? You dislike Irish looking individuals perhaps? It might be I got out of the service and you destest civilian pukes.
At 56 and paying taxes, I still don't have a problem demonstrating my lack of compassion and sensitivity the 2ed Marine Division taught me towards extremists. But, as a MSG who has most likely earned their rank, I will show respect to your rank. Even if my respect for you is slipping.
Regards MSG.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - 1. Let's dismiss the personal part first. I hold no hostility toward you and if you believe I do, then I offer my apologies. I do strongly oppose some of your political opinions though.
2. I thoroughly read the web site for this organization and find nothing to suggest "open borders." I think that is just one of the latest catch phrases coming out of the right.
3. I too strongly oppose extremism of any type, political or racial. I am a believer in our system and believe it only works when both sides can find compromises. I believe those on the right and those on the left are driven by noble reasons, thinking what they hold up is what is best for the nation. However, if they are not willing to compromise, then this nation will not survive. Now, I am sure there are those on this board that will strongly point at the opposition as the ones unwilling to compromise, but it takes both sides!
4. Me an extremist? Only in my love of country and my fear of the dangers to this country we face internally.

MSG Stan Hutchison - Thank you for your response.
If we helped Mexico and the countries south of them with building schools, roads and water treatment plants, we would have stonger neighbors. Also, not so many illegal aliens.
I am not aware of white supremacy. If that was true, I would not have to work so hard to get where I am in life. School and the exams I had to take to be a Sonographer were very hard for me.
Have a good evening MSG.
