Superb share LTC Eric Udouj Sir. This Al-Shabaab assessment is spot on and having served in the 2nd POG, I can attest to the fact that analysts within are one of the best.

It is funny how we have kind of forgotten they are operating and shifted our whole of focus to IS.... it was a dangerous move.. because they have not forgotten us like we have them.

LTC Eric Udouj, we have pretty much forgotten 9/11 and 26/11 Sir. We have been fixated on ISIS and LeT that other mujahedeen groups have been taking advantage of our ignorance.

That you mention LeT is a great point - they have their hands in a lot of things - yet are shielded from view in a variety of ways. As a military - wee just can not seem to keep a focus of more than one enemy --- and that has ment a lot of failure when senior leaders do not know the difference between them - and lump them in the same basket.

LTC Eric Udouj, so true Sir. The ways in which Al Shabaab works is totally different from the way in which LeT strikes. Al Shabaab is a bit like the DPRK using Psychological Operations to convert or to distract prior to striking its targets. On the other hand, LeT gets its intelligence from the ISI and much of their operations are suicidal missions, such as 26/11 and the German Bakery Attack or the stone pelting incidents across the Kashmir Valley.

Wow. Another excellent article on the enemy. Except what was left out.
The following is the short version and more accurate IMO. The Youth are fighting a Holy War on Infidels and Apostates. It is the same ideology of AQ. The Youth see themselves as the military arm of the Islamic courts. Their numbers grow every year from Mosques and Madrassas that teach the supremacist/Marxist based Sunni Islam. They are commanded to do so by Muhammad. Their perfect man who murdered and raped.
This article is for those who desire to believe the Youth are part of the minority of Islam. That they, AQ, ISIS, the Taliban...do not represent Islam or the majority of the Ummah. Rest assured, while you put honey in your Earl Gray, pat yourself on the back for being able to write an essay with great punctuation, grammar and word choice, Islam is at war with you.
Yeah. I'm the bad guy. I'm going to go turn myself in now for more compassion and sensitivity training.
