I am sadden that anyone would take their life. However, what he did to these young recruits he would have only lived with it for 20 years...the victims live with it every day for the rest of their lives. He broke a sacred trust that we as nation give to the parents of these young people. We promise them that we would take them from their homes, protect them, train them and help them grow and mature into a warrior. When this type of stuff happens, it breaks that promise with our nation. There was a culture that was broken at Basic...an unwritten code that they would hold each other accountable and it wouldn't go any further. I look at everyone in that chain from the Commander of Basic training through the Sq CC's, Chiefs, and First Sergeants. You can't hide that as long as it was hidden without someone looking the other way. Anyway, it was a black eye on the Air Force and hopefully we can put it behind us and move on. This was the few bad apples scenario and I think we have gone through all the barrels and gotten all the rotten fruit out and started over.

I guess he couldn't live with himself...and he thought his life was over...he lost his military career and had a huge mark on his record.

As Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth says Sgt Kelli Mays, it is sad that he took his life but it is even more sad that he chose to rape women under his control. My personal opinion regarding men like this is that they deserve everything they get thrown at them. The military has allowed this to go on for far too long.

Caviet: I haven't had time to read the article.

"Convicted of Rape" considering how hard it can be to convict someone of something, I think this could be re-written in a less politically method of "Rapist AF Instructor Commits Suicide".

And to that I say: "Good riddance, may you burn in hell."
