One state I wouldn't mind seeing secede would be California. Then they can officially declare themselves the Dictatorship they already are.

Can we have some "flex" in that? There are some industries there that support troop morale both here and abroad. CA can't leave. Short of Miami and LV, it's the porn capitol of the world. How are you going to tell your Sailors there is no more porn? You've seen what happened on HMS Bounty right? Now move the Kardashians and most of Bev Hills to some tropical place....like Kuwait. What could go wrong there?

If they think they can get away with it, try it. What's the worst that could happen? Your economy is one of the biggest in the world, but should you break away, the money the Feds give is gone, so now TX will have to raise takes substantially to support a large but isolated "country". And that will not make the residents happy. TX has this thing with MASSIVE sports arenas. Imagine Jerry telling the President of TX he needs 500 million to update it? That would be one hell of a short conversation centering around NO. Oil that is pumped to stations in TX to be sent overseas would change locations. Again another severe setback in the economy of TX. All the US military installations would be stripped and moved to other more inland posts. No one wants Ft. Hood, so they can have that. No argument from me.
People always want what sounds good, "sexy", or dangerous. They get their rosy glasses on and think this is possible like the Marine biting a percussion cap blowing off his face. Sounded good, might've been "sexy", but it damn sure was dangerous.

SFC John Hill - If they do the usual, they'll take it back knowing they bought it at $5000 a piece, and sell it for less than five cents apiece.

Can't be done, darned Constitution. That is not an option. Turned out rather badly for the secessionists the last time.
