Air Force Academy Cadet Accused of Cocaine Use Faces Court-martial

Yrs ago, when I'd been undergrad, one of the guys in the dorm where I was actually had a spot there...he'd been CAP in high school, total fighter jock mentality, that was all he'd wanted, zero room for compromise or anything else...anyway, he'd lost it as he'd had a motorcycle accident that caused him to get a leg fracture, it gave him a chronic osteomyelitic cyst, the spot was instantly rescinded...he'd been explicitly warned beforehand to just stay in the house till he'd been told to get on the plane, not once, many times, he just didn't listen...his Mom and Dad figured if he couldn't fly them, maybe designing them might be enough for him, that's why he was aero engrg where I'd been...it never was...it was a totally tragic story, there's a whole lot more to it, though it's obv quite painful for me to recall, certainly...I worked with a whole slew of their grads while I was in, those I knew were all totally straight arrow...I mean, you'd figure they'd have more than enough with coursework to keep them busy there, rather than goofing off in such a totally asinine way, ya think?

Capt Daniel Goodman - Wow. Interesting to hear a first hand account of this. Not everyone is fit to be in the military, much less to be an officer who will likely be toxic down the road.
