I thought that we already had a separate Space Command, I was sure that it is/was called NASA. NASA is a joint organization. I also thought there was already another Space Command that was/is a joint endeavor headquartered at Peterson AFB called the US Space Command. But it was closed down in 2002. What a waste of money and effort.
The United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) was a Unified Combatant Command of the United States Department of Defense, created in 1985 to help institutionalize the use of outer space by the United States Armed Forces.

SSG Robert Webster Yeah, but NASA doesn't really do space stuff anymore. AF Space Command seems to have taken over the USSPACECOM stuff, for the most part. It would make sense to combine the various branches w/ space commands to unify the operation, right?
