Airflow at a Hover in Helicopters

Are there any aviators that can share expertise related to the helicopter?
I wanted to understand airflow through the rotor blades better. I think this instructor does a really good job. But he throws me for a loop at 7:31 with the word exacerbate. Exacerbate means to make a situation worse. Specifically in the video, what situation is made worse?
