My grandfather helped build these blimps and airships in Akron, Ohio. He told me of this incident in which several sailors were pulled up. Four were pulled up rapidly and one jumped at about 15 feet and broke his arm, but two were killed. The survivor, Apprentice Seaman C. M. "Bud" Cowart held on and was saved. Aviation Carpenter's Mate 3rd Class Robert H. Edsall and Apprentice Seaman Nigel M. Henton fell to their deaths.

Dang!!!! you would have thought there would have been a better system in place to secure those. But typical military, spend millions designing the thing, once they are massively overpriced and behind schedule they will find odd ways of saving money. Like not putting a 'park' in the old humvees...
