Now here's an interesting fellow...

Growing up we spent a good bit of time visiting Chicago as that is where my Mother was born and raised with family still living there. As we drove through the city she would point out various places and tell us the history of that location.
On one such visit she pointed out a high-rise apartment and announced that she had lived there as a child and that Al Capone was known to have a series of apartments in the penthouse several floors above her floor.
One night a rival gang threw a bomb into the lobby in hopes of killing Capone who had just entered the building. However he was already in the elevator on his way to the top of the building or perhaps had already reached the security of his room when the explosion occurred. My mother was just a child but remembered the great amount of damage to the lobby and to apartments on the lower floors.

There was no good in this man who did nothing unless it resulted in a personal benefit.
He has been gone since 1947 but he is not resting in peace.

Thank you for posting this today Sgt. Reynolds. This is era and it's players has always fascinated me.
Have a blessed day!

They ended up prosecuting many of the criminals for tax evasioin...much easier to prove and didn't require reluctant witnesses.
