Alaska woman is 1st infantrywoman in state’s National Guard

History was recently made when Serita Unin became the first woman infantryman in the Alaska National Guard. When she first joined in 2009 as a generator mechanic, combat jobs were not available to women - that is until leaders saw potential in Unin and thought that she would be a good fit for the infantry. Congratulations Sgt. Unin on all of your accomplishments - your service is an inspiration to so many!
