I am sure he never thought for a minute at an NFL game he would be the lone Steeler standing up during the national anthem. He is surrounded by weenies who have confused and conflated free speech with stupidity. His coach, who I used to have a lot of respect for, completely failed in leadership 101 and letting the crowd set the standard. The Coach should have told them they will follow NFL policy on the anthem, or else.

He equivocated and pushed Villanueva to be the lone ranger. He was probably embarrassed over tall of the attention he got from doing what he had always done. What Americans have always done. What those that love their country have always done.

Truly an awful day when someone has to apologize for behaving in the appropriate manner and rendering honors. Negative peer pressure at work. Yet another reason to forgo the NFL and anything affiliated with it.

That all sounds like a total "load" to me, CPT Jack Durish. So now, the one "stand up" guy decides to back down. Peer pressure must be powerful there. Pitiful.

A fella could get hurt on the field if the rest of the team abandoned him
