With asylum applications at around 200 per day at ports of entr, maybe applications should be handled within the country of origin at the US embassy and forwarded to the proper channels for approval/disapproval..That would prevent the current situation..

These are mothers who are fleeing rape and gang violence and have been traumatized and are seeking asylum. No mother should ever separated from her baby not even in prison. And even criminals in prison, parents are allowed daily visitation with their children. The Moms and Babies program at the minimum-security prison allows some incarcerated women who give birth in custody to keep their newborn infants with them while they serve their sentences.

They wouldn't be migrating through unsecured border locations if they were truly asylum seekers. The laws governing asylum seekers states they need to identify at a port of entry or an embassy/consulate. An unsecured section of our sovereign border is not a port of entry. They are here for "free" stuff at the taxpayer's expense. The previous administration was enticing illegal entry.
