In (2 King 6:14-17)
Elisha sees his invisible, spiritual protection. God sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they
came by night and surrounded the city.
And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. AMEN
Elisha told his servant “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open the eyes of my servant that he may see” but not change anything in the situation.
Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. God - answered Elisha’s prayer for the servant to see
the reality of the situation; that he could not see before.
It's when a person
is blind to spiritual reality, only and only God can open his/her eyes. God may do it through the words someone speaks, but the
work of spiritually opening eyes is spiritual work and belongs to God - alone.
