If we reverted back to days of only reporting the actual news a lot of people would be looking for work. Look at all the hundreds if not thousands of media outlets on the net and on cable TV as opposed to the former big three networks and compare then to now. We not only hear about the actual events but many peoples opinions of the events. By doing this they slowly massage and manipulate the news to arrive at a "deliverable" that is a reflection of what they believe the public's interpretation should be. Most people are capable of figuring it out on their own but those that are not walk away with someone else's viewpoint. That's why the media is more responsible for shaping our debates over issues than most people are willing to admit. I liked it much better when we were just given the who, what, when, and where and allowed to figure out why on our own. So now we have a new onslaught known as "fake news" that is not even valid and if the opinion part is questionable then the fake portion is near criminal. The beauty of it for them is that we are actually paying them to form our opinions and now lie to us, and how bizarre is that? We actually pay internet and cable providers to do our thinking for us and now lie to us. What's wrong with this picture?
