A Little Less Known Part of Hawaiian Culture. I Used to Listen to a DJ on One of the Stations while I was Stationed there and I swore He Came from the Southern or Western Mainland from His Voice and the Cultural References He used and then I Saw Him in the Around Town Magazine. Big Old Pacific Islander.

My wife is from the cowboy areas of Maui. Lot of Portuguese and Spanish heritage there. Course, she also grew up liking Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. But up in our kitchen that she decorated in a Hawaiian style is a picture of a man and boy in cowboy garb...in Hawaii.
There's a song by Willie K, "Kachi Kachi Music Makawao", that combines the Polynesian and the Portuguese/Spanish/cowboy styles and sings about that area of Maui.
This looks like a great birthday present for the wife!
