It's even a better reason to keep the A-10 Warthogs around since the F-35 can get shot down by the tank's coax machine gun or any machine gun by that matter and the F-35 will run out of ammunition and Ordnance way before the warthog. Three to four more trigger pulls than the F-35. Way more dwell time and completely armored compared to the F-35 having no armor.

I've been on range tests and seen the AGM-114 (Hellfire) fuc , I mean trash a tank. I've also watched an F-15 (although any fighter can carry it. Most often the A-10 depending on mission profiles) launch an AGM-65 (Maverick) with an INERT warhead (NO explosives) knock the turret OFF of a tank. Again, an inert W/H! Turkey may have a better tank, but as long as we own the sky, they die!

But if you have the Air Force have its way, the A-10 dies, soldiers Airmen and marines died on the ground and the air and the US loses its best platform EVER for anti -tank and close air support. The military industrial complex wants to make money at the expense of people's lives on the ground and the pilots as well.
