@PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Both my grand father's served in WWII. My uncle served in Vietnam. My youngest brother served in the Air Force, and I was Navy. Additionally I have several great uncles who served in WWII as well. Though I don't think it is genetic. I think it is more a matter of being raised to believe that serving something bigger than your own interests is important.

I think it as always been that way to a certain extent. There is not the national sacrifice needed to conduct wars. When only the military suffers, people forget about the costs to those who fight and worry about their loved ones who are fighting.

WHEN YOU HAVE SOLDIERS IN YOUR FAMILY, THE FAMILY CARRIES THEMSELVES A LITTLE DIFFERENT. THE WAY OF THINKING IS JUST A LITTLE DIFFERENT. PREPARATION IS THE KEY, SOME KEEP IT A LIFETIME AND SOME LOSE IT AFTER A SHORT TIME!

THANK YOU BROTHER!! I WATCHED MY SON, WHEN I AS IN NORTH CAROLINA, AND HE PREPARED HIS UNIFORM AND EVERYTHING HE CARRIES TO WORK IN THE SAME MANNER AS I DID!!! I DIDN'T KNOW HE EVEN PAID ATTENTION TO MY DETAILS AT THE TIME!!! LOL I WAS SOOOOOO PROUD!! EVEN IF HE'S A OFFICER-HE PREPARES LIKE A DRILL SERGEANT!!!
