Someone may have shared this before, but I think it merits reinforcement. If you travel abroad, make these cemeteries a part of your sightseeing. Each one is different, each chapel has its own personality, and you'll find that in many towns (particularly in Belgium and Netherlands) that the majority of the markers are adopted by local citizens.
One of the finest things our government does (in my opinion) is recognize these heroes who died overseas protecting our way of life.
BTW, if you follow ABMC's Facebook page you will see regular posts regarding locals caring for graves, testaments to fallen heroes on their birthdays, etc.
