Been hearing a lot of this from fellow Vets that I know, and I have been wondering if it was "illegal" for them to do so.

Ah, the Liberals favorite part of the Constitution which has never been enforced via any cases of note or even defined / clarified by the Supreme Court..........."The Emoluments Clause". Military dot com is dumb to even publish this garbage. No legal precedent here. Would be hard to establish one with this war since it was overlooked in past wars (past precedent). See I am not a Lawyer and I got your interpretation for you. You can freely participate in any foreign war on behalf of any country in the world unless it is a country that is at war with the United States (gray area: potential adversary of United States.....though we also exempted those in the past). So good luck with that court case if you can find a judge that would take it. They tried to nail Trump with this as well and failed spectacularly.

Now as far as losing medical Vet Benefits, again, doubt it would happen via Emoluments Clause. Though I am against the taxpayer paying for any coverage of medical issues incurred via the foreign legion service which should be covered by the specific foreign legion and if I had to guess......Ukraine is not covering those.
