I don't think they overplayed their hand. They will still be an effective road block in the next piece of law he proposes. Trump telling them he will go around them next time isn't going to be an effective strategy. That may work in business where the boss has control, but government is not a corporation. You can't simply order everyone to follow along when power is distributed among so many entities. It takes time to cut a deal with so many competing interests.

The interests here are often not competing but in diametrical opposition, and that is just within the Republican Party.

SFC (Join to see) The only way the rest of the Republicans and Trump can break that hold is to throw enough bones to the Democrats to get their votes instead. Unless they do that the Freedom Caucus will hold them by the short hairs as you say.

Good thing too, Trump promised to repeal Obama care, so do it. The Freedom Caucus is only holding you to your campaign promises, present a bill that establishes a competitive market for HMO's. Put the corporations fighting against each other for the consumer's benefit rather than working with government against the consumers.

Yes it does. However, the Freedom Caucus still controls the Republican agenda as long as the Republicans stay with the Hastert rule.
