I was stationed at Hood from 93-97. We never had incidents such as missing soldiers like this. Yes some went AWOL. But they were always found safe. Heck I was just down there in May to visit my sons. The atmosphere had changed so much.

Thats sort of what I remember from Hood SFC(P) John McLaughlin. We had the AWOLs and the occasional deserter and I loved doing the paperwork on the deserters! I wasn't admin but signed up to to be the company clerk as it kept me out of the field! lol

Remember knocking on a soldiers door in Harker Heights. Got a key from the manager to let us in. That kid had everything packed up and gone. Got with the MPs and the put a bolo out on him. Found him on his way to Michigan. He was stopped because of a taillight that was out. Had his family too. Only 2 months at the unit and he up and left.SFC William Farrell

Something is definitely wrong at Fort Hood MSG (Join to see). I served there for a year and a half 72-73 and never remember anything like this. Sad, very sad. DoD needs to do something and quickly.
