I remember similar feelings while on my Med Cruise. "Embrace the food from my foreign neighbors in respect for bonding in friendship that supersedes the language barrier". Then a few months later life steps in and insurgents on Beirut beach are trying to blow up our ship, USS Puget Sound AD-38 of 5000 crew members flying the white flag, the hospital flag, the Admiral's flag, the US Flag, US Peacekeeping Force Beirut flag; yeah, made it out of Beirut feeling pretty scared and relieved. I just can't remember when the anger set in.
