You're correct. Anti-Fa is an extremist group looking for any reason to stir up violence. They don't represent the masses on the left that are attempting to peacefully make a statement only to see masked clad in black thugs show up. Interesting note about the hat. I wouldn't have any idea what the Young America's Foundation is nor that it's a conservative group? So whoever harassed him must've had a bone to pick with that organization otherwise sounds like he was a young Black guy at a vigil for a woman killed by a suspected Neo Nazi. Something is missing from this story.

wrong to attack anyone; but hardly a class act to wear a hat for a conservative organization that features speakers like Ann Coulter and Liz Cheney to a vigil for someone killed by a right wing, anti-liberal believer.
Their mission for college campuses is:
"We can help you advocate for conservatism and speak out against the liberal agenda. Regardless of your experience, we have activism projects that can help your club stay active throughout the entire year."

Is a vigil for a dead person killed over politics really the place to wear a political hat?

No, but, is it a valid reason to attack?

Free speech only for anyone that agrees with me is not what the 1st amendment says.

Capt (Join to see) - the very first words of my response was that it was wrong to attack. But showing up for a vigil with that hat is similar, but not exactly, like the Westboro baptist church going to military funerals with god kills soldiers signs. It's their free speech right, but tons of people believe it is in bad taste and confront them and try to block access or get them to leave.

I understand that people want balance in going after extremist groups but in my view the Antifa movement is a flash in the pan and it should be a much higher priority to go after the Neo-Nazi's and Klan who represent a threat to everyone on both sides of the political divide in this country.
