The Auburn Tigers checked in at #12 and [with #20 San Diego State] remain the only undefeated teams in the Top 25!

I am not a fan of undefeated being anything exciting. My Jayhawks lost to Duke in the first game of the season and I am sure many Alabama fans will agree losing to LSU should not put them out of the playoffs.

Okay, MAJ Byron Oyler, but I assume you're discussing basketball and football? Duke beat Kansas in basketball a few weeks ago and now Kansas is number one. I get it and I think that’s just fine. I don’t mind that Kansas is number one in the poll with one loss. There are plenty of games left to play and I'm sure Auburn will fall at some point. However, I do remember that Kansas was supposed to beat Auburn last year in the second round of the NCAA basketball tournament. Auburn had losses then, but we still beat Kansas, so I really do get your point that being undefeated may not be exciting. Winning, though, is still exciting.
If the Alabama-LSU reference is to football, then you're absolutely correct. Losing to LSU should not and did not take Alabama out of the playoffs. Losing to Auburn on November 30th took them out of the playoffs! WAR EAGLE!

LTC Stephen C. As much as it pleases me that Alabama is out and the Sooners in, I don’t think a loss to Auburn makes OK a better team than Alabama.

Well, MAJ Byron Oyler, the CFP selection committee thought so, and I guess that’s all that matters. Three of the four teams selected are undefeated, and the Sooners only have one loss (coincidentally with a QB that Alabama “threw away”). Alabama suffered their second season loss to a three loss team, so they sealed their own fate. The CFP selection committee would have been hunted down had they put Alabama in the final four. Anyway, in the final rankings, Alabama dropped all the way to 13, below Auburn at 12. With Oklahoma being the only Power 5 school with one loss, the committee really had no other choice.
Personally, I think it would be great for OU to win (my wife got her masters there), but I think LSU will prevail. I’d also like for Clemson to beat Ohio State, but that game is just too close for me to call.
