I know this play very well and watched a lot of baseball during those years. Bartman didn't do anything wrong or illegal, but probably shouldn't have done it. It's easy to Monday morning quarterback anything. He was a fan that had a chance to get a postseason souvenir, a rarity in its own right for the Cubs during his lifetime. I can't place much of the blame on him. No doubt that ended any Cubs momentum and extended the inning for numerous runs costing the Cubs the game and likely the Series. However, also look back on the inning, the professional athletes making millions were not getting the job done on the field. That's where the blame should've been focused on.
