The article includes "contact tracing" as key in the "plan" advocated. That was a method used in combating syphilis.
The tracing of such sexual contacts was appropriate where a disease like syphilis was spread solely by sexual relations, not suitable to dealing with COVID-19, which does not require such intimacy of "contact". We are told COVID-19 can be transmitted from contaminated surfaces for days, by people who show no symptoms and do not themselves feel ill.
Consider the possible number of infections of such a highly contagious disease that e.g. an infected postman might give via the contaminated mail he delivers along his route.

Agree with most of what is being presented. Everyone self quarantine until two test prove healthy as this takes time to build up in the system. Clear to work giving a pancimc ID card go back to work.

SPC David S. Do not agree with the idea of a 'pandemic' ID card. And how is that going to work anyway? And you do not get a 'drug test' ID card for taking a drug test for employment purposes. In a sense it is the same type of idea.

Agree on the drug test - however I can't get infected by a drug addict. Somehow people and businesses need to know if individuals are not infected in order to open up the economy. Testing is a for sure however how it works from there needs to be worked out. As well like the idea of states to manage this - creates buy in sharing resources as well getting NG involved with managing logistics. When there's resources needed federal government steps in. However many states have been caught with their pants down - poorly prepared to take on a pandemic.
