Interesting that the story has a headline and opening about a new minor archeological find in Germany but most of the article is about older finds at Vindolanda in England. I now know more about ancient Roman footwear than I ever expected to know and certainly more than I will ever need to know.
I wonder if some day far in the future archeologists will be writing about finding our boots, shoes, and flip-flops while excavating one of our military bases.
