No, they're the enemy. You don't have to be brainwashed to see the enemy as subhuman. It's a war. Were looked at as subhuman by the enemy, so on both sides, we're each subhuman, and there is none of that PC BS in combat. When I think about the war I was in, and the wars today with ISIS, they are subhuman enemies.
