I disagree with this, as well. At least they didn't go as far as Wyoming did with Cheney and kick her out of the party.
Another reason why our two-party system sucks. In order to be elected at the national level, you more or less MUST align with one of the two parties (some independents make it in by aligning with a party and then declaring independence, like Bernie). And if you don't do EVERYTHING the party wants, you get kicked to the curb. Any moderate who thinks BOTH parties have some stuff right and other stuff wrong is completely screwed.

The "sucky-ness" wasn't envisioned in the Articles of Confederation era but developed during the Constitutional Convention when different views emerged about the relative power/sovereignty struggle surrounding the individual states and the central (soon to be federal) government. The outgrowth fostered two factions that we know as "Federalists" and "Anti-Federalists" the names have changed several times since then to, so to say, protect the guilty, I suppose. Our first President under the Constitution, George Washington was very concerned about the development of these parties, and cautioned us about their potential to damage our still fragile experiment in being a free people.

SGT Charlie Lee It happens every once in a while.
Mostly when you decide to stop being wrong. :-P
But even when we disagree we can still be civil! Which I appreciate.

The only vote that counts is her Arizona constituents, period. Maybe NPR should have talked to them instead of the ADP "Executive Board".

They have as much right to speak as she does, if the are allowed to support publicly they are also allowed to withdraw that support publicly. Google the right of free association

1stSgt Nelson Kerr I didn't say they don't have the right to do it, I just said I don't really agree with it.
It comes down to my philosophy that I believe elected officials should take the public's opinion into account, but they shouldn't turn whatever way the wind is blowing. They are elected to get an in depth understanding of the situation and act with their best judgement. What they AZ party is saying is that they don't think the people they once supported should be able to vote their conscious and judgement if that disagrees with their judgement. It's fine, they have a right to do it, but I don't have to agree with them doing it.

SPC Kevin Ford She is not bothering to try to protect people's right to vote. And will not even bother to make time for her constituents.
