This smells like a load of utter BS. The story aside? Let's look at the known facts that happen in every recruitment and go from there.
Ok, so you have a recruiter that will or has bent rules/regs/specs to push up a recruit. That only flies so far. Sure he can pencil whip the documents and even convince the applicant to lie and then sign. But the convoy stops there. Why? That infamous four letter anacronym. MEPS. Military Entrance Processing Station.
What does that mean? It means they take the recruit and his or her packet and go over it and him. They are tested, looked at, x-rayed, listened to and looked at. The recruit is stripped down to being naked. You cannot hide squat in that. Sorry. The story does not fly.
It MIGHT if it were JUST one Doctor or tech but it is not. It is multiple techs and drs that are not affiliated with just one branch. Each one, at each step having to sign off on this recruit in his condition.
I call BS on the story.

Could someone with anxiety depression and high functioning on the autism spectrum slide through MEPS? Yes they could and have.
The whole arm condition though. I am surprised he passed the underwear olympics and the actual physical portion.

I'm with you. Furthermore, if he was DQ by the navy already there is a record of it in MEPS. This whole story is just off to me. There is no way a DR at MEPS looked at the civilian dr. notes which stated he was on the spectrum and still passed him through. There is no way this kid passed an OPAT! I just don't believe it....I have questions. SO.MANY.QUESTIONS.

Exactly MAJ (Join to see) MSG (Join to see) This story has so much that just does not ring even remotely correct or even plausible. I think we will find that this story was fabricated to a great degree.
