SFC James Cameron - I've never been aboard, but grew up in KY. Lived in Louisville awhile after HS. Wiring houses and going to school at night.

CWO3 (Join to see) I was with the Light Infantry Brigade that called Knox home after Armor and Cav moved to Benning. Loved the area so much I made it home after retiring.

SFC James Cameron - Good place for someone that loves the outdoors. Many other lakes besides KY/Barkley, Mammoth Cave and more. I was lucky to recruit out of Jackson Purchase area 84-87. Essentially at home, but still worked 80 hrs a week. MEPS was 3 hr 12 min at 85 all the way, due to toll stops. Kids thought they were going to fly up, I told them they were. Air Citation (Chevy). Buckle up. Louisville was in EST zone so I lost an hour. 0601 and your kid don't process. Midnight reveille's if the kid was an hour away and no way to get to me. Windshield time, luckily I knew or learned the county roads to shorten route(s).

LOL "more noise", lol yea ok . Most of the public around Fort Knox is military anyway, so they know what to expect. By The way, how long has the base been there?, 102 years as of this date. Brother if you ain't used to tank fire now, you never will be. lol Coming from a tank mechanic(63E20) who has spent many a night on Yano Firing Range.
