Very true and the world has stood still in regards to this. Unfortunately there is not much that can be done short of jumping in full throttle

LTC Eric Udouj - Ahhh Sir now you are coming at this in a different manner of appraoch. There is a bigger picture which is more historical in nature and the other point mentioned- Assad himself; that there is the crux of it, but the options in this regard are a bit messy I am sure

I do no think I am the only one looking at this in a very different manner... why is this offensive going now in Winter with every effort and force that can be mustered? The Iranians are reading ahead... knowing that time is not an ally - and that next month it runs out. I bet they are concerned....... as is Assad. The bigger picture is that the muscle is almost all foreign - and such is great for a fight - but not for the long term aspect of ruling. So when taking a view outside the limited box we created - and looking at the real issue...... lot of options for the POTUS Elect if he puts his planners to work,

SFC(P) Hercules Lobo - Spot on! The narrative from the press and from the administration has always made out Assad to be the heavy, it is their country and the so called "arab spring" had no business getting involved. On target on Saudi, a good example is the way the latest decision against Saudis and their 9/11 involvement has conveniently evaporated from the mainstream media.
