I say as an American, Who cares? Prison is a holiday vacation. You broke our laws that is why you are in JAI. If it isn't nice you won't do it again You might even say It is educational, Americans is teaching you common sense. Like don't come back.

Prison is not a "holiday vacation" nor is Gitmo a "vacation." Lol.
Not everyone in jail or prison broke laws. There are people wrongly convicted sitting in US prisons and jails - and have been executed. Also - realize that there are innocent people in jail purely because they can't afford bail (innocent until proven guilty and people can spend months in jail if they can't bond out and that whole time they are technically innocent).
Prison is educational? How? Lol. It doesn't rehabilitate. It's purely for profit.
And Gitmo is in Cuba...so...not sure how it is teaching someone "don't come back" lol.

sorry the Terrorist that I know of that are getting what they deserve. You know you are Talking against your socialist progressive people you think so highly of. Gee you had me fooled about a vacation, Than why is so people working so had to get into a prison? Could it be a TV for every 4 cells, a pool table, weights to lift. . Most are better than a plush hotel.
Now Gitmo and Sheriff Joes had the real prisons. Pink panties and a tent along with hard work. Now Ole Joe had a real prison. in other hotel prisons, I know a few prisoners that don't want out of jail because that is the only real home they have ever known. Now that is sad.

The last time Guantanamo Bay had refugees, the military personal who cared for them and provided medical care had to have security escort them.

Most aren't terrorists and have never been charged - and children have been detained there:
https://reprieve.org/uk/campaign/guantanamo/faq/
4. At least 15 children have been held in Guantanamo
One of the youngest detainees in Guantanamo was Mohammed El Gharani, who was just 14 years old when he was taken there. Despite being a child, Mohammed was tortured, including having his head slammed against the floor, and cigarettes stubbed out on his arm. Mohammed was held for a total of seven years without charge or trial, until Reprieve lawyers won a court order for his release in 2009.
6. Over 90% of Guantanamo detainees have been released without charge
730 men have been released without charge from Guantanamo, often after having endured years of suffering and abuse.
Now, 40 prisoners remained detained, including many who have not be charged or given a fair trial, and some who have been cleared for release. Many of these detainees have been subjected to horrifying torture and abuse.
"Mansoor Adayfi is one of the men who survived Guantanamo. Mansoor is a Yemeni national who was released from the detention facility in 2016 after spending over 14 years detained without charge. Mansoor was still a teenager when he was kidnapped and taken to Guantanamo Bay, and he has detailed in his recently published memoir Don’t Forget Us Here: Lost and Found at Guantanamo how he was physically and psychologically tortured while detained. Post-release, Mansoor was ‘resettled’ in Serbia, where he recounts how he was followed and tracked by police, denied a local identification, and restricted to the city of Belgrade- unable to travel. Since 2002, Guantanamo Bay has held a total of 780 prisoners. In this time it has become a global symbol of injustice: a place which stands for torture, abuse, and indefinite detention. Over the last 17 years, the Government has attempted to suppress the truth about Guantanamo. In response, we have been working to bring …

SSgt Robert Simonds - Um wrong. Jan 6 individuals are not "political prisoners." Good rief you people are insane. Also who is currently in jail with no charges? There were some held without bail. But in US jails - you don't go to jail unless you've been arrested for something and remain there unless you were arraigned and the county prosecutor or DA filed charges. Such as - an ex of mine who assaulted me did not go to jail because when the police talked to him he lied about what he did. So the prosecutor said he wanted "more evidence" as it was "he said/she said"...so ex didn't go to jail for that. But he has gone to jail for other things when arrested or violated probation.

You're a little OFF, SFC. The story is about migrant Cubans, refugees, not unlawful combatant Islamists who want to kill us, aka detainees. Cuban refugees or migrants or those seeking asylum are not detainees. But, since you brought it up, according to the Geneva Conventions and Law of War, even lawful combatant POWs may be "held without charge or trial until the end of hostilities." And even though the Global War on Terror is still alive and well, 745 of just under 800 Gitmo detainees have been released with at least 30% suspected or confirmed to have returned to the fight. Unlawful combatants may be lawfully shot dead on the battlefield. We held them alive in order to obtain valuable information that saved many lives.
