Another Bobblehead story to get those heads bobbing in righteous indignation. There are a lot of people carrying machine Guns and wearing helmets. They should be in the Army.A Police Officer should be able to walk his beat alone. He should know the store owners and many of the citizens. Police work for the people in his area. Many say it can't be done, they aren't trying

Recipe for disaster. The rule presupposes that LEOs don't currently exhaust all possible options before discharging their guns.

Well, if all this policy does is reinforce what the officers are already doing, i.e. Exhausting all other options first, then it shouldn't be a recipe for disaster, should it

LTC (Join to see) - Key word "shouldn't". It depends on how it's implemented, but I can easily see bureaucrats second-guessing cops in situations in which they had to make split-second decisions about using their gun, and applying a checklist after the fact when the circumstances rendered one or two items on the checklist irrelevant or there just wasn't enough time to do them all.
