With such a large proportion of our sights set on our southern border diring election cycles is this an indication that we are neglecting our northern one and are there threats coming in from there? Your thoughts?

We used to Have "JTF-6" on the southern Border and "JTF-4" on the northern Border looking and watching for Illegal Border Crossings and contraband and trafficking of Illegal immigrants...

Fortunately in Canada we have a government that; is in control, exercises due diligence, and is not as easily corrupted. But that does not mean we do not need to watch the Northern border.
From 1989-1991 my wife worked in the Consular office of the US embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. It was well known that 1/3 to 1/2 the visas the Canadian High Commissions (Embassies) in Africa issued to Africans were entering Canada as a stepping stone to illegally enter the United States.
