Ash Carter: U.S. looking to coalition for more trainers for Iraq

PARIS — Defense Secretary Ash Carter said Tuesday that he wants coalition and other Arab countries to "greatly" increase the number of trainers they provide for Iraqi security forces and police, and said the U.S. will also look at boosting its numbers.

Its about time they do something and play more of a role they have been playing! A much larger ROLE!

You can train all you want, but unless the Iraqi people want to put nation higher on their list than where it is now, all that training won't help. They have to learn to put tribe/clan, religious sect differences and such aside and unite. My personal opinion - this won't happen in my life time.

e SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL I would hope SecDef is trying to get the Saudis and the other nations to participate in world affairs. Near this 25th anniversary of Desert Storm; where is Kuwait, Saudia Arabia, Qutar and the others? They strive to present their military presence, where is it? Where is all of their national pride and ($) currency that Desert Storm emancipated?
