I agree. Some vets don't want to talk about their service because of what may have happened (PTSD) or just somethings aren't made to be spoken or talked about. Thanking for service, while I'm humble someone would recognize me, I don't know what to say back to them; "Thank you", "you're welcome"? I just end up saying "I'm just doing a job" but then it changed to "it's a pleasure to serve". While it may not be what someone would use for a response, but I consider it to be worthy.
