Good morning RP. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "The Longer Days." This six-month long solargraph was taken in Casarano, Italy, and recorded the most recent winter-summer solstice cycle. As you can see, starting in December the Sun trails peak lower in the sky, near the northern hemisphere's winter solstice. Breaks and gaps in the trails are caused by cloud cover. Foreground reflections are due to building shadows and periodic rain. The trails trails climb higher as the days grow longer and the date June 21st approaches.
