I think that’s wishful thinking from Buddie, although I hope he’s right. Here are Herbstreit’s thoughts from Forbes:
“In a recent interview with ESPN Radio, Herbstreit said he would be stunned if football is played this fall at the amateur or professional level. ‘I'll be shocked if we have NFL football this fall, if we have college football. I'll be so surprised if that happens,’ he said, via TMZ. ‘Just because from what I understand, people that I listen to, you're 12 to 18 months from a (coronavirus) vaccine. I don't know how you let these guys go into locker rooms and let stadiums be filled up and how you can play ball. I just don't know how you can do it with the optics of it.’”

Hard to say at this point, the tail of the curve appears substantial for Covid19, spending time in College Athletics, missing a year of play would badly impact every school at a time many see a drop in tuition revenue.

I can’t even begin to comment on the economic aspect of no college football this season, Ken Kraetzer. It boggles the mind to think of all that would be negatively impacted by the loss of a football season, college and pro.
Think about practice, though. Have teams been working out as teams? I don’t think so. Most schools should have already had their spring game.
I hope the fall 2020 football season is played, but I just don’t see how that will happen.
