Very cool, I guess, but I do not see the real utility of it fir gound combat leaders, who should be well-trained to read full color, 1:24000, graduated topo maps, which is what they will be carrying in the field. Expensive, fun toy for cartographers, maybe. Don't see its use in a real combat situation.
Just an old Recon Rat, trying to figure-out how he could utilize it. My guys (back in the day) could look at a map and 'see' the topography. And with good compass skills, land on a dime after 10k meters. Not sure hiw this sandbox would change anything, really. Lots of fun tech tho'!
