A lot of heavy aircraft can do the to land in high crosswinds. It's terrifying to watch, but it works like a charm.

That type of system was developed I believe in WWII, it was a result of all the landing gear being sheered off as planes came in at odd angles due to wind sheering and damage. Though I dont think it was a amplified as that video shows lol. It is now common in all large aircraft.
