I know it's hard listening to Kamala, but your really have to try. This interview is only 11 minutes. There's at least 30 seconds of meat buried in here worth discussing. Give her a chance, will ya?
Remember President Trump's Economic Advantage Zones? They worked. They attracted investment capital to America's most depressed inner city areas and unemployment fell to historic lows, especially for minorities, including minority youth. Kamala's suggesting the same thing isn't she? Well, she might be. There's no real solid plan. And she wants to help first time home buyers with a $25,000 (something or other). Of course, that'll drive up home prices by approximately $125,000, but give her credit for trying something new. Well, it's not really new, is it? It's like all the free money we gave college students and tuitions immediately reached astronomical levels. Yes, those home buyers will be knocking on the doors of Congress demanding loan forgiveness just like those students.
How about that $50,000 tax deduction for new small businesses? That should be a great idea, shouldn't it? I don't know how many entrepreneurs we have here on RP. Many of them, I hope. Anyone here ever show a $50,000 profit in their first year? No, me neither. So, we don't have to waste any time on that proposal.
Let's not waste time on philosophical questions like, do people deserve success just because they want it? Kamala obviously believes we do, but that rarely happens, does it? The vast majority of new businesses fail in their first year. Why? Usually, undercapitalization or a poorly conceived business plan (or no business plan at all). Nothing Kamala is offering will change that. In fact, she doesn't even address that. She thinks that government handouts are the answer to all. The problem is that she isn't talking about handing out her money. She can't hand out government money. The government doesn't have any. She's talking about handing out your money and mine. Can you afford that? I can't.
Then Kamala talks about her plan to give a $6,000 tax credit for people who have children. This makes me smile. Why? Isn't it funny that a person who is pushing to make abortions freely available for all is pushing for a greater fertility rate using tax credits? Keep in mind that she's saying "tax credits", not deductions for dependents. There's a difference. Deductions reduce taxable income. Credits are government handouts. Whose money do you suppose she wants to "hand out?"
Is it any wonder that she doesn't like talking about her plans or that she simply copied and pasted Joe's onto her website? To be perfectly honest, I would be happy if that's all she wants to do, but I fear those are only promises to buy votes from Americans who are willing to sell theirs. I'm not. I fear that she has another agenda lurking in the shadows, one that she won't share because even those will to sell their votes aren't willing to sell their souls. Again, I won't.
