The hospital is scrambling to cover their butts and no one is talking to anyone. The lawyers will come up with a cover story in the meantime the official line is 'safety of our patients is our main concern." You can bet their own internal investigation will serve to protect them from possible liability lawsuits or criminal charges.

And anyone who's worked in an Emergency Room can tell you that that there's two sides to a story. Patient's are notorious for over exaggerating symptoms, lying about history, etc. and this is even more prevalent in those with psychiatric disorders. Not saying that is what happened here, but I wouldn't simply assume that the hospital is now scrambling to cover their butts and somehow, by default, the staff surely did something wrong. Most nurses and doctors I have ever known work sacrificially for their patients and families and, even for the reason of self-preservation, would never put patients in harm's way. I am sure there is more to the story than some video clip and some hurt family member's story. Again, don't know what happened here in the slightest, but I tend to give the staff the benefit of the doubt in these cases--as one who has been punched, kicked, spit at, verbally assaulted and there when one of our patients took our staff hostage at gunpoint, I can tell you, there's more that goes on than you might think in the ED.
