Before some hapless Army guy comes along with the always comical and always wrong "The Army did a larger landing than the Marines ever did," - This being June 6 and all -- on Okinawa two Marine divisions and two Army divisions landed side by side.

I think it is important to thank all who were in one of the hardest battles Americans ever endured.

You are absolutely correct; Marines and Army served in other WWII Pacific Campaigns i.e. Guadalcanal, Saipan, & the Philippines And it took teamwork of tanks and infantry throughout the struggle for Okinawa by both the Army & Marines to win this tough battle. We also lost Ernie Pyle on Okinawa
