I've heard that pilots that have escorted the bear bombers and flew too close reported nausea from the extremely loud supersonic propellers.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen Russian bombers in international air space were intercepted by American fighters in international air space. All pilots acted professionally, nothing came as a result of it. So essentially they flew, we flew, everyone respected territorial air space, and everybody went home. I agree, it was not newsworthy then, it is not newsworthy now, but in our 24 hour news cycle, got to have something to scare people and fill the gaps. Additionally, the photo that first comes up in the article is a transport plane, not a bomber, and certainly not a bear.
