The credit card and debt game is a double edged sword. I started my financial planning firm to help educate people on that fact. Too much of anything can be bad, and you won't get anything you really want without establishing credit. The cards are a necessary evil and have to be used wisely. There are a lot of myths out there about credit cards and credit scores.

Sound advice, until the realities of life intervene. The problem in you often need credit cards. To rent a car, to reserves tickets, and hotels. There are times a debit card won't cut it. And when things happen sometimes you must use them, such car repairs. A person might not have the 600 or whatever amount, so what are they to do? It is easy for someone who is very wealthy to say that, but I bet even he has credit cards.
