I still have one that I bought in 1971, SPC Brian Mason! Back then, we just called them poncho liners!

I've the one from ETSing in '97 (we were issued all sorts of extras when we deployed to Bosnia that they never wanted back), and a couple years ago when the local army discount store was going out of business I saw them on sale for $20. There were two left, brand new, and I got them.

I had to give back a lot. I was in when the transition from camo green to ACU happened. Late 2005 I believe. I have 3 pairs of boots, 1 CW and 2 HW, Aid Bag, one complete ACU, CW gloves and some other minor things. It's a great thing, in my opinion.

I came out of Bosnia with two pair of barely worn cold weather boots, $250 a pop on the outside, that they did not want back as they had been worn. They were my go to cold weather boots for a dozen years after I got out.

My youngest son made off with my original. I was complaining about having to get another one and how it wasn't broke in and he started smiling like a Cheshire cat and told on himself.
