Good share, those folks are way beyond me. My experience with nukes was guarding them and deactivating them in case of emergency. How they actually worked was beyond my pay grade.
I have to give it to the folks that figure that stuff out though. Genius level but thinking about it gives me a headache.

As I'd said, I'd have done it had USAF OTS not taken me, I'd have gone 6-yr nuc enlisted with my Bach, and tried for Navy OCS and NUPOC, I was quite envious of mymfriend who'd passed the interview with Adm Rickover, then changed his mind about NUPOC, the other friend as I'd said was one of the instructors, we were doing our masters in physics before my disability in the same program, he always wore his Navy OIS T-shirt.....

Capt Daniel Goodman Poor Nukes, IQs thru the Roof, but Social Graces? The Guys that always aced any Math type course and lived to Play D&D. We Tease them a bit in the Navy. I will say that every Cheng on the Mighty Ark was a Character and Beloved by the Crew. The First One I met. while TAD His Escapades on Liberty in the PI were Legendary and the Second One when I was ship's company was downright dangerous with his Golf Balls on the Fantail. Also had a Habit of forgetting what we did in Outboard/SSES and We took distinct pleasure in busting his Chops for calling the Mrs on His Cell right next to Our Antennas.
