I doubt we will hear anything from Gretta Thunberg about this. China is probably forward -thinking in a conflict with its neighbors or the USA in limiting its oil imports and focusing on its existing coal reserves. Also, China is using its silk road initiative to build dozens of Coal-fired power plants to many desperate countries around the world. It is strange of the ethics of China continuing to build coal fired power plants both nationally and worldwide. The environmentalists have said nothing publicly to China but Certain politicians are all over us to do the Manhattan project Green New Deal To stop coal, oil production and turn our energy models upside down while China promises to eventually change by the year 2030.

They are shutting the old Coal plants, the new ones in the same towns are opening to replace the old ones. Much of CH pollution goes to Korea. It makes breathing tough for some people.

If you recall the Olympics in China, and their history in general, the environment isn't high on their priority list. However developing emerging countries dependence on China is, so from their perspective this makes sense. What the rest of the world thinks about energy models means nothing to China.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I've seen people including the secretary of state calling for another city to be named due to raising tensions. But I wasn't asking in regards to a geo political stand point but that of a medical educated hypothesis. Thank you for the response.
